The BFID RNA panel examines transcripts from 23 fluid-specific genes. Coding SNPs in 20 of those genes provide a link to the companion genomic-DNA panel.
RNA is converted to cDNA before library preparation. Joint assessment of expression and matched DNA variants can help connect a fluid type with a donor in a mixture.
